Born on 1 Dec 1886 in Putney, London son of James and Edith (Evans) Dewar.


Educated at Haileybury College 1901-04.


He married Phyllis Catherine Cooke on 26 Oct 1911 in Wandsworth, London. Apprenticed to a Corn Broker in the City of London.

Wartime Service

Served in the Inns of Court O.T.C as Lance Corporal. Later obtained a commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the 5th London Regiment and entered France on 21 Sep 1916 and was killed in action just over two weeks later at the Somme.
