Born in 1885 in Dickinson’s Yard, Ware, Hertfordshire son of Joseph and Sarah Amy (Welch) Newton and living in 1 Caroline Court, Baldock Road, Ware in 1901 and in 9 Cherry Tree Yard, Amwell End, Ware in 1911 as a domestic gardener.


He married Emily Gates in 1915 in Hertford and they lived at 17 Townshend Street, Hertford.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Hertford formerly 2516 Hertfordshire Regiment and was killed in action at Passchendaele.
