Born in 1894 son of David and Julia (Warren) Newell of 13 Hartham Lane, Hertford and living there in 1901 and 1911 as a boot maker’s errand boy.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Hertford formerly 4156 Private Hertfordshire Regiment and died of wounds probably in one of the several Casualty Clearing Stations in Outtersteene.

Additional Information

Brother of Lance Corporal Edward David Newell who was killed in action on 7 Feb 1915 and is also commemorated on these memorials.
