Born on 23 Feb 1897 in Bishopthorpe, Lincolnshire son of Joseph and Bessie Jane Naylor. Educated at the Royal Masonic School 1908-12 and became an outfitter.

Wartime Service

Enlisted in Jan 1915 in Grimsby and entered France in Jan 1916. He was wounded on the Somme in Jul 1916 but recovered and returned to the front in Mar 1917 and was killed in action at Croisilles.
