Frederick Munden was born in 1886 in Kimpton, Herts, the son of George and Eliza Munden, and one of ten children. He was baptised there on 16 January 1887.
On the 1891 Census the family were living at Church Lane, Kimpton, where his father was working as an agricultural labourer. They remained in Kimpton in 1901 and 1911 at which time Frederick was working as a farm labourer.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Hertford and served with the 25th Company, Labour Corps.
Frederick died on 13 July 1918, aged 31, from acute broncho pneumonia at the 4th London General Hospital, Denmark Hill, and is buried in the churchyard of St Peter and St Paul, Kimpton, Herts.
Additional Information
A war gratuity was not admissible but his father received his pay owing of £2 14s 10d.
It appears from pension cards that his mother may have received a pension, although no amount is given.
