Born in 1874 in Ware, Hertfordshire son of James and Sarah Sweeney and was living in Kibes Lane, Ware in 1881 and in Butcher Row, Baldock Street, Ware in 1901.
He was a marine dealer. He married Mary Elizabeth Sweeney in 1896.
Wartime Service
Enlisted at Hertford, entered France on 24 Sep 1915 and was killed in action in Belgium.
Additional Information
Father of Private Claude James William Sweeney who was killed in action on 31 Jul 1917 and is also commemorated on these memorials.
