He was formerly in the Bedfordshire Regiment. Lewis was born and christened in Croxley Green in 1886, the eldest of three children. In 1911, Lewis was living with his parents, John and Isabella, at 1 Briery Close Cottages, Croxley Green. He was a labourer and his father worked for the County Council as a roadman.


Recorded as enlisting in Watford.


Wartime Service

Lewis John Dean would have been about 32 years old and is buried at Souchez, near Lens. He was formerly in the Bedfordshire Regiment (19727).
