John Edwin Ludlow was born in Langley Green, Warwickshire in the early months of 1899. His father was Ernest Horatio Ludlow, Brewer & Maltster, and mother Mary Ethel (nee Rodgers).
His education was at Glebe House, Hunstanton and Aldenham School.
Wartime Service
He joined 15th Battalion Warwickshire Regiment in Birmingham as a private (serial 15/902) and was in France by 21 Nov 1915. He died on 4 Jun 1915 and is buried near Arras with his comrades in arms from the same battalion.
Additional Information
His mother, Mrs M E Ludlow pf Guilford House. Mortlake, London, ordered his headstone inscription: "LET'S DO WHAT'S RIGHT & NOBLE AND SO MAKE DEATH PROUD TO TAKE US"
