Born in 1894 in Hoddesdon son of George and Elizabeth Rose Day and living in Morley Ponds, Wareside in 1901, Armoury Cottage, Thundridge in 1911 and later in Timber Hall Cottages, Ware, Herts.
Wartime Service
Enlisted at Hertford on 11 Dec 1915 formerly 25671 Bedford Regiment and transferred on 26 Jun 1916 to the Loyal North Lancs. and embarked on 1 Jul 1916 arriving at Etaples the next day. He was wounded with a gunshot wound to the face on 21 Oct 1916 and was treated at Hospital at Boulogne but returned to his unit on 11 Dec 1916 and was later killed in action near Ypres.
