Born on 3 Jan 1891 in Brighton, Sussex son of Col. William Chetwode and Catherine Dalton Lloyd.
Educated at the United Services College 1900-02. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant Hampshire Regiment in 1910 and Lieutenant in 1912.
Wartime Service
Fought at Gallipoli and believed to have died in London of illness contracted in India. However, recently (2021) we have been informed of an article in the 29 April 1916 edition of the Daily Mail, this records, under the heading "Suicide through Grief", that Chetwode Lloyd died of a self-inflicted gunshot owing to his distress at his brother's recent death. Chetwode Lloyd was also suffering from paralysis (partial?) at the time of his death, and other brother had been taken prisoner.
