Born in 1891 in Ware, Hertfordshire son of William A. and Jane Lee of 69 Crib Street, Ware. He was a grocer’s warehouseman.

Brother of Private Philip Charles Lee who died of wounds on 17 Aug 1917 and is also commemorated on these memorials and of William, Walter and Frederick Lee who also fought but survived WW1.


Harry and his brother Philip are also commemorated on their parent’s grave in Ware Old Cemetery. Their inscription reads:

ALSO PHILIP AND HARRY, SONS OF THE ABOVE [William Albert & Jane Lee]
KILLED ON ACTIVE SERVICE DURING THE GREAT WAR, 1914 1918
