Pre War

Before joining the Army George was employed as a Cabinet Maker by Messrs. C. Joscelyne Ltd, Market Square, Bishop's Stortford. His home address was in. Thorley Street and then later he moved to Hunsdon Street, Hunsdon, Herts. He enlisted in Hertford.

Wartime Service

George joined the Army in October 1914, entering the Hertfordshire Regiment (3681).


He went to France in 1916 and was transferred, first to a Labour Battalion and then in 1918 to the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. He was killed in action on October 29th 1918.
