Pre War

Born on 4 Apr 1887 in Hertford and baptised on 15 May 1887 in St Andrew’s, Hertford son of William John Mark and Elizabeth Mary Lacey, of 6 Ware Road, Hertford. He was educated at Park House, Broadstairs, Kent and Guy’s Hospital from 1905 where he became doubly qualified in Dentistry (1908) and Medicine (1912). He married Mabel Barber on 23 Oct 1913 at St Andrew’s, Hertford and they lived at 153 Ware Road, Hertford. He worked as a dental surgeon.

Wartime Service

Entered France on 5 May 1916 and died in Heilly where there were several Casualty Clearing Stations.
