Born on 22 Mar 1894 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire and baptised on 3 Jun 1906 in Great Amwell, aged 12, son of Charles James and Kate Sarah (Wilson) Kingsley later of Beech House, Stevenage and living in The Hollies, Walton Road, Rye Park, Hoddesdon with his uncle in 1911. Educated at Hertford Grammar School.
Wartime Service
Enlisted at Hertford formerly 7978 Bedfordshire Regiment and was killed in action.
There was a brief announcement in the Hertfordshire Express on the 25th of August 1917:
"We are sorry to state that Private Cecil Kingsley, son of late Mr. Charles Kingsley, has been killed in action in France. Deceased, who was brought up by Mr. Edward Kingsley, of Hertford, was a stepson of Mrs. Robert Kingsley, of Holwell."
