Pre War

Cecil was born in 1887 in Holloway, London to parents Albert and Jessie Kingdom. His father was recorded as being a tailor, and born in Devonshire. Kingdom is very much a West Country name. He was found next in 1911 when he was in the 2nd Bn. The Buffs

Wartime Service

He enlisted in Chatham and was obviously a regular soldier. His Battalion landed in France in September 1914 when army records show him to be in the 1st Bn. the Buffs, and his residence given as Lambeth.

Additional Information

His wife remarried a Mr Rings in 1917. Cecil’s connection to Albury has not been found, but this man is the most likely Kingdom with the initial C in his name recorded, as killed in CWGC.
