Pre War

Harry was born in 1888 in Meopham, Kent to Henry Kimmings, a coachman, and Sarah Rose (nee Hayward). By 1891 the family were living in High Street, Northchurch. Harry had 3 sisters. In 1911 Harry was working as a Groom at stables in West Malling , Kent.

Wartime Service

Harry enlisted in the Army Service Corps as Driver T4/039969 (T refers to Horse Transport and 4 indicates New Army 4), and went to France on 22 Dec 1914 with an unknown of the ASC. He is known to have served with 661 Company (Park Royal) ASC. This Unit was formed in April 1916 and was based at Park Royal Willesden. Harry died in the Royal Herbert Hospital at Woolwich on 11 Feb 1917.

Additional Information

War Gratuity of £9 and arrears of £23 12s 5d was paid to his Mother Sarah.
