Son of Thomas and the late Edith (nee ALLSUPP) DAVIS; husband of Mary DAVIS.
His parents married 1881 in the Worcester district. Thomas died 1918 aged 58; Edith died 1911 aged 56; both in the Worcester district.
John was born 1886 in Worcester, and resided in Watford.
On the 1891 Census, a scholar aged 5 he lived in Worcester, with his parents and three siblings. On the 1901 Census, a commercial clerk aged 14, he still lived in Worcester, with his parents and three siblings. On the 1911 Census, a potato merchant aged 24, he was a boarder in Ramsey, Hunts.
Recorded as born in St Johns, Worcester and was living in Watford when he enlisted in Birmingham.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Birmingham; was entitled to the Victory, British War and 1914-15 Star medals, his qualifying date being 18 May 1915, and was killed in action.
Additional Information
Unfortunately, John’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
