Albert was born in 1894 to Charles and Eliza Keen. The 1911 census shows the family living in Norfolk Road, Buntingford. Albert was one of 7 children and was working as a grocer’s assistant. 


Commonwealth War Graves Commission shows his father as living in Church Street, Buntingford.


Recorded as born in Layston and was living in Edmonton, Middlesex when he enlisted in Hertford.
