Harry Ernest was born in 1895 in Little Amwell to Harry Judd, a gardener, and Jane (nee Sapsford).
On the 1901 Census Harry Ernst was living with his parents and younger sisters Minnie, Kate and Emily at 2 Goat Row, Little Amwell. Harry Ernest’s mother died in 1910. On the 1911 Census Harry Ernst was working as a stable boy at domestic stables, his father was working as a labourer at a gravel pit and there were in addition Daisy Grace (born 1904) and William Lawrence( born 1907).
