Paul Headley Johnston was born in 1897 in Nottingham, he was the son of James Hunter Johnston a medical practitioner and the late Mabel Ethel Johnston née Headley.  He had a younger sister, Ethel Katherine Headley b 1901.

Wartime Service

Lieutenant Paul Headley Johnston was commissioned to Second Lieutenant into the 74th brigade Royal Field Artillery, his commission was gazetted on 26th August 1916. He went to B.E.F. on 19 Dec 1916 and was an Officer of ‘C’ Battery. He died of his wounds on 11th June 1918 and is buried in Bac Du Sud British Cemetery ,near Arras, France.
