Born on 7 Apr 1888 in Breinton, Herefordshire son of Hatton Greenwood and Judith Elizabeth (Clapham) Sugden of Burletts, Bramber, Sussex. Educated at Haileybury College 1902-07 and Pembroke College, Cambridge. He worked in The Straits Settlements, Malaysia.

Wartime Service

He entered France on 27 May 1916 and was killed in action at the Somme.
