Norman Leslie Jackson was born in Stawell, Victoria, the son of Henry and Ellen Jackson. He was educated at Nott Street State School, Port Melbourne and worked as an accountant. He lived at 42 Swallow Street, Port Melbourne, Victoria. 

Wartime Service

He enlisted on 21 July 1915 as a Sergeant in the 29th Battalion, C Company. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on 10 November 1915. He was later commissioned as a lieutenant but was killed in action on 23 July 1918, age 27.
