Lionel Hyde Rochfort was born in 1889 in Lewisham. He was the eldest and only son of Thomas Harvey Hull and Gertrude (nee Hyde).
He had two younger sisters. In Dec 1912 he enlisted in 21st (First Surrey Rifles) Battalion, London Regiment as Rifleman 1365. His stated address was Killisher Ave. Streatham,
Wartime Service
Lionel was mobilised in Aug 1914 and his battalion moved to the St Albans area for training before being deployed to France on 15 Mar 1915.
He was commissioned and was serving in 'B' Company. Lionel died on 25 May 1915.
