Pre War

Alfred Jones Homersham, born 1892, was the eldest surviving son of Alfred Wyeth and Sophia Homersham. He followed his father’s trade of Ironmongery Supplies and married to Phyllis Olive Spikins 16 Jul 1917.

Wartime Service


He joined London Regiment, was a Lance Corporal when he was commissioned in the 25th battalion 13 Oct 1915, later transferring Royal Flying Corps in Mid 1916. After training he was posted to 2 Squadron with B.E.F. September 1917.


Killed in Action 18 Feb 1918. While flying as pilot  of Armstrong Whitworth FK8 Ser. Num. B211. His observer Captain S Broadbent was also killed at the same time and they are buried alongside each other.
