Born on 10 Jun 1892 in St Swithun’s Rectory, Winchester, Hampshire son of the Rev. John Henry and Frances Helena (Mitchell) Hodgson of St. Anne's, Crowthorne, Berkshire and baptised in Winchester on 10 Jul 1892. Educated at Haileybury College 1906-10. Emigrated to Canada on 22 Nov 1913 as a bank clerk. He was unmarried.
Wartime Service
Enlisted on 17 Mar 1915 at Montreal, Canada. Came to UK with the 2nd Contingent on 8 Jun 1915 and entered France on 16 July. Killed in action in the trenches near Frise, Somme, France. Initially recorded buried in Eclusier Military Cemetery, France but grave subsequently not found.
