Pre War
He was the son of Mrs. Baldock, of 6, Colney Heath, St. Albans, Herts.
Wartime Service
John was sent to France on 26th October 1914. According to the Herts Advertiser, John was killed in action at Neuve Chapelle on 18th March 1915, aged 32. It was also reported that: “He was the son of Mrs Baldock, of Colney Heath, in which village he was well known, had served with his regiment in India, and proceeded straight to the Front soon after the outbreak of war.” It is likely that John lost his life in the Second Battle of Ypres.
