Pre War

He was born in Baldock and before the war he used to assist his mother in the family grocery business.

Wartime Service

He enlisted in July 1916 and went to France in December of that year. In September 1917 he was sent home with a poisoned hand but on recovery was returned to the trenches in December. He died of his wounds at the No. 4 Casualty Clearing Station on 13/01/18 aged 24.
