Owen was born in early 1897 in Peterborough and his parents were Thomas and Isabella Wright.
In 1901 the family were living at 22 Hampden Road, Peterborough. Present were both parents: Thomas (35) and Isabella (34), with Thomas working as a brickyard engine driver. Their children were: Mable (8), Hilda (6), Owen (4) and Osborne (9 months). Two other relatives were present: Benjamin Broughton (28) and Charlotte Broughton (31).
By 1911 the family were living at 204 Belsize Avenue Woodstone Peterborough. Present were both parents, x now working as a . The census recorded they had been married for 19 years with 7 children of whom 3 had died. All the children listed above were present. Owen Wright, now 14 was working as a brickyard labourer.

Wartime Service
He was originally in the 8th Battalion of the Royal Sussex Regiment, but was later transferred to the 12th, retaining the same service number, and did not serve overseas until at least 1916.
Killed in action in Belgium.
Additional Information
After his death £3 13s 1d was authorised to go to his father, Thomas, on 29 April 1918. Later, a war gratuity of £6 10s was authorised to be paid to him on 29 November 1919.
His pension cards record Isabella his mother as his next of dependant, living at 204, Bellsize Avenue, Woodstone, Peterborough. She was awarded a pension of 3s 6d a week from 11 June 1918. Later, after she died (4/1/1938), the card was amended to his father, Thomas.
