Cuthbert Walter Harris was born in 1896 to Frederick and Harriet Harris.

Unable to locate the family on census returns or find any record of Cuthbert's birth. 


His recorded as living in Hertford when he enlisted there.

Wartime Service

He enlisted at Hertford and served in the 1st Battalion of the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire Regiments under the same regimental no. of 266030.

Additional Information

His father Frederick received a war gratuity of £18 10s and pay owing of £10 11s 2d. His mother Harriet received a pension of 3/5 a week from 6.11.18 and was then living at 12 New Town Road, Bishops Stortford. His father requested a transfer of that pension in 1924 which was refused.
