George was born in 1895 in Buntingford to William and Eliza.

In the 1901 census the family were living in River Green, Buntingford. By 1911 George was working as a Farm labourer.

Wartime Service

Enlisted in Hertford. Formerly of Hertfordshire Regiment service number 4691.

Killed in action during the first battle of Kemmel Ridge.

Additional Information

Although the Commonwealth War Graves site shows him as George Frederick the family knew him as Frederick George and that is how he is listed on the war memorial.
