Pre War
Born on 1 Oct 1882 in Hertford son of Peter and Alice Ann Davey and baptised on 12 Nov 1882 in St Andrew’s, Hertford. They lived at 65 St Andrew Street, Hertford in 1891.
He married Edith Winifred Rickard on 11 Jul 1908 at Hanwell, Middx. and had three children. They were living in the Glade, Holmbury St Mary, Dorking when he enlisted, and he was a gardener. His wife later lived at 9 Cavendish Place, Herne Bay, Kent.
Wartime Service
Enlisted at Guildford on 6 Dec 1915, was mobilised on 2 Jun 1916, entered France on 17 Apr 1918 at Le Havre and joined the 142nd AA Section R.G.A in the field on 22 Apr 1918. He died of pneumonia in the 56th General Hospital in Etaples.
