Born on 23 Aug 1895 in Bideford, Devon son of Herbert Oliver Denman and Sophia Louisa (Cox) Harding of 10 Kingsley Terrace, Westward Ho, Devon. Educated at the United Services College 1903-04 and the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. He was unmarried.
Wartime Service
Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant on 17 Nov 1914 and entered France on 8 Feb 1915. After successfully bombarding a German trench at Neuve Chapelle, his gun was damaged and he and his men had to retire. He was the last to leave and was hit by shrapnel and severely wounded. He was removed to hospital that night but died of his wounds.

United Services College, Westward Ho, Devon amalgamated with Imperial Service College in Windsor in 1912 and then moved to Haileybury College, Hertford Heath in 1942.
