Son of Walter and Maria (nee LUNT) WOOD; husband of Sarah Marguerite (nee KINDLYSIDES) WOOD.
His parents married 17 December 1876 in Walton-on-the-Hill, Lancs. Maria died 1917 aged 59; Walter died 1920 aged 64; both in the West Derby, Lancs, district; both buried in Allerton Cemetery, Liverpool.
William was born 1892 in Liverpool, and baptised 31 May 1892 at St Peter’s, Liverpool. He married 26 December 1913 at St Michael’s, Watford.
On the 1901 Census, aged 8 he lived in West Derby, with his parents and five siblings. On the 1911 Census, a butcher aged 18, he lived in Liverpool, with his parents and three siblings.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Watford, and was formerly Private 11530 East Kent Regiment.
He was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and was killed in action.
Additional Information
Unfortunately, William’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
