Born on 13 Sep 1894 in Hampshire son of Lieutenant Commander Arthur S. Hamilton R.N. and Ethel M. Hamilton of Mudeford, Hampshire. Educated at the United Services College and the Imperial Service College 1908-12.

Wartime Service

Died of wounds received at the Battle of the Ancre.

Variously listed as Chatharn Anson Shirley Hamilton (in SDITGW) and Arthur Anson Shirley Hamilton in CWGC. United Services College, Westward Ho, Devon amalgamated with Imperial Service College in Windsor in 1912 and then moved to Haileybury College, Hertford Heath in 1942.
