Anthony Wilding, the son of Mr F Wilding, was born in New Zealand. He came to England and was a student at Trinity College, Cambridge. Wimbledon Champion.

Wartime Service

At the outbreak of the war he joined the Royal Marines and was gazetted a second lieutenant in early October 1914. The temporarily the Intelligence Corps and then, at the end of October he joined the Royal Naval Armoured Car Division in the battlefields of northern France. He was killed in action during the Battle of Aubers Ridge at Neuve-Chapelle, France when a shell exploded on the roof of the dug-out he was sheltering in.

Educated New Zealand; Trinity College, Cambridge, B.A. Called to the English Bar, Inner Temple, 1906; qualified Barrister and Solicitor of Supreme Court of New Zealand, 1909.
