*1 The Hertfordshire Regimental Memorials lists an E W Westwood, but no E W Westwood has been found in other records so it is assumed this man (W E Westwood) is the man on the Hertfordshire memorials. Also the Diocese records list a W E Westwood (Royal Berkshire Regiment) - this man and a W Westwood (Hertfordshire Regiment) however we believe the latter to be a duplication of W E Westwood, who originally served in the Hertfordshires before his transfer.
