Pre War
George Charles WESTON was born in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, in 1898, son of George Weston a Nurseryman and Harriet Jane Weston (nee Roberts). The eldest of two sons.
1901 Census records George Jr. aged 2, and his parents as boarders, living with Frederick and Jane Emerick at, 32 Lampton Road, Heston, Hounslow, Middx, his farther is a Foreman at a Garden Nursery.
1911 Census George (12) is at school, living with his parents and brother Frank (9) at, 9 Milbourne Terrace, Church Road, Heston, Middx.
Wartime Service
George Jr. enlisted at Hounslow, Middx, on 19th June 1916, aged 17yrs & 11 months, he gave his occupation as a Clerk, and his address as, 9 Church Road, Heston, Hounslow, Middx, posted to the Duke of Cambridges Own (Middlesex Regiment), with the service number G/52561.
On completion of his training George Jr. was sent to the Western Front, joining the 12th Battalion, at the front on 25th August 1917, he was Killed in Action just two months later, on the 22nd October 1917, he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial to the missing in Belgium. Additional Information
His mother Harriet received a Dependents Pension of 3/6 a week from 21st May 1918, increased to 5/- a week from 6th November 1918.
