Percy Henry Payne Gillett was born in Fulham on 27 Nov 1901 (baptised 29 Jan 1902 at St Dionis in Fulham London to Arthur Charles Gillett, clerk, and Maud Elizabeth (nee Childerstone). The family were living at Bradbourne Street, Fulham.
On the 1911 Census the family of parents, Beatrice Frances (born 1900), Percy and Cecil Arthur (born 1909) were living at 148, Heythorp Street, Wandsworth.
Wartime Service
Percy was enlisted in Royal Flying Corps (became Royal Air Force on 1 Apr 1918) probably in late 1917/early 1918) as boy 157649.
No Service Record was found for him, but he was posted to School of Technical Training. He died in Tring Isolation Hospital on 9 April 1918 and is buried in Tring Cemetery.
Additional Information
No War gratuity was due, arrears of £4 13s 2d was paid to his father.
