Son of Ephraim and Amy (nee PACKER) WEST of Watford.
His parents married 4 July 1883 at the Congregational Church, Watford. Ephraim died 1934 in Watford aged 70, and was buried 17 September in Vicarage Road Cemetery, Watford; Amy possibly died 1947 in the Bedford district aged 82, or 1950 in the Surrey S E district aged 85.
Alfred was born 1892 in Watford, and baptised 10 June 1892 at St Mary’s, Watford. He resided in Watford, and was employed at Messrs Ashwell & Sons.
On the 1901 Census, aged 8 he lived in Watford, with his parents and six siblings. On the 1911 Census, a clothier’s parcel deliverer aged 18, he still lived in Watford, with his parents and eight siblings.
Wartime Service
He enlisted at Somerset House, London; was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and died at No. 30 General Hospital.

Unfortunately, Alfred’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
