On 20 October 1904 he married Elizabeth Bruton at Great Berkhamsted and on the 1911 Census they were living at 34 Victoria Road, Berkhamsted when he was working as a gardener nurseryman. They had three children, Alice, Geoffrey and Barbara and later lived at 24 Charles Street, Berkhamsted.
