Hertford Town Memorial

Born in 1886 in Bloomsbury, London son of William and Jane Wells and living in The Lions Head, 61 Railway Street, Hertford in 1901 and in 1911 and assisted in the pub.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Hertford and was killed in action at the Battle of Neuve Chappelle.

Additional Information

Frederick is commemorated on his mother’s headstone in Hertford (All Saints) Churchyard, his part of the inscription reads:

ALSO FREDERICK ARTHUR, SON OF THE ABOVE (Jane Wells) KILLED IN ACTION AT THE BATTLE OF NEUVE CHAPPELLE
MARCH 12(*1) 1915, AGED 29 YEARS.
