Sacombe Village Memorial

Pre War

Born and lived in Sacombe Pound, Herts. Parents David and Alice (Harvey) Garner. Worked as a horseman on a farm in 1911.


Before enlistment he had worked at Sacombe Bury Farm for many year.  He enlisted on August 7th, 1914.

Wartime Service

It was reported that he was wounded on December 24th, 1916 and died on December 27th, however officially this was recorded as the 25th.  he had been home on leave three weeks before his was wounded.

Additional Information

At the time of his death he had two brothers in the Army, one in the Bedfordshires and one in the Herts.
