Born in 1891 in Hertford son of Charles and Ann (Overall) Game and living in Lime Kiln Cottage, Gallows Hill, Hertford in 1891, 1901 and in 1911.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Hertford, entered France on 30 Aug 1915 and died of wounds probably in one of the many hospitals in Le Treport.

Additional Information

Brother of Private William Game who was killed in action in France in 1916 and who is also commemorated on these memorials.


Alfred and his brother William are also commemorated on the family headstone in Hertford Corporation Cemetery. Their inscription reads:

ALSO OF THEIR TWO SONS, KILLED IN THE GREAT WAR

WILLIAM, KILLED IN ACTION, OCTOBER 1916 AGED 31.

AND ALFRED, WHO DIED OF WOUNDS RECEIVED IN ACTION JUNE 1917, AGED 24.
