Pre War

Thomas Sydney was born in 1898 Cockfosters, New Barnet to Archibald Jabez Fuller, a farm labourer, and Charlotte Sarah (nee Watkins).


On the 1901 census Thomas was living at the Cottages, Cockfosters together with his parents, elder sister Ada and brother Herbert. On the 1911 Census Thomas was still living with his parents but with the addition of younger brothers Harold and Joseph.

Wartime Service

Thomas enlisted as Private 181406 in 29th Training Battalion as Private 67174 and was posted to 2/2 Battalion, (City of London) Battalion (Royal Fusiliers) after basic training as Private G/67174.


The 2/2 Battalion were part of 58 (2/1st London) Division and were engaged in the Third Ypres and on 26 Oct 1917 took part in 2nd Battle of Passchendaele (26 Oct – 10 Nov 1917. Thomas was killed in this action on 26 Oct 1917,


His remains were not recovered and he is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Ypres.

War Gratuity of £5 and arrears of £4 4s 11d was paid.
