Charles Warby was born in Sandridge , Hertfordshire in 1887 to Charles Warby – a railway labourer and Mary nee Webb.
He was one of eight children, 6 sons and 2 daughters .
Charles was baptised on 1st February 1891 at the Parish Church St. Leonards , Sandridge.
In 1901 Charles was living with his parents and four older siblings in Sandridge Village, his father was Railway Navvy and in 1911 Charles was a farm labourer, aged 13 , living with his parents and two of his older sisters in East Lane , Sandridge.
He enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery on 20/3/1908 20/3/1908 at Hounslow , London before the start of the war and his profession at time of enlistment was labourer.

Officially recorded as born in St Albans (more accurately Sandridge) and enlisted in Hounslow, Middx.
Wartime Service
He died in a railway car en-route from Barrackpore Hospital to Lucknow Hospital, India.
