Born on 31 Jan 1882 in Redbourn, Herts. son of James and Maria (Moody) Fox, later of 3, Harpenden Lane, Redbourn and christened on 10 Sep 1882 in Redbourn.
He married Kate Taylor in 1905 and they lived in 7 Fish St., Redbourn in 1911. They had two children and was a groom in a racing stable.
*1 The Soldiers Died In The Great War database records that he was born in St Albans, Herts. and was living in Redbourn, Herts. when he enlisted in Hertford. Other records suggest that he was actually born in Redbourn.
Wartime Service
Enlisted at Hertford, entered France on 11 Nov 1914 and was killed in action on the Somme.
