Born in Dec 1879 in Markyate, Herts. son of Thomas and Mary Fox and living in Church End Redbourn in 1898 and in East Common, Redbourn in 1911 as a ploughman.
He was unmarried. Initially enlisted Private 3898 4th Bedfordshires Militia on 17 Dec 1898 at St Albans and, although he was pronounced fit for active service on 13 Mar 1899, he was discharged as totally unfit on 16 Jan 1900. On the outbreak of the war he re-enlisted.
Wartime Service
He entered France on 30 Aug 1914. He was killed in action in the region of Hill 60, near Ypres.
