Pre War

Alfred Raymond Fox was born in Bairnsdale, Victoria and was a medical Practitioner living in Stawell, Victoria. His father, Dr J R Fox also lived in Stawell.  

Wartime Service

He served in the Australian Army Medical Corps Reserve and enlisted on 13 July 1917.  His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board A61 Kanowna on 25 September 1917. He died from sickness on 24 August 1918, and was buried at sea. He is therefore commemorated on the Australian National memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France.
