Pre War

Born in 1877 in Swindon, Wilts, son of William and Mary Ann Walstow. Was apprenticed to the Great Western Railway on 18 November 1891, age 14.


1901 Census: Boarding at Louise Road, West Ham and working as a gas fitter.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Monmouth. Was gassed and repatriated, but later died at Wormleybury VAD hospital.

Additional Information

Mother Mary Ann received a £22 war gratuity.
