Pre War
Born in 1881 in Stanstead Abbotts, Hertfordshire son of James and Emma Walsingham. 
He married Ethel Warren in 1907 and they were living at 61 Burford Street, Hoddesdon at the time of their marriage. Then 45 Warren Terrace, Bengeo, Hertford in 1911. He was a plumber and had two children and a step-daughter.
Recorded as Born in Hertford and living in Ware when he enlisted in Hertford, however census records confirm that he was born in Stanstead Abbotts.
Wartime Service
He had enlisted as 7973, Private Active Service Company, Bedfordshire Regiment on 23 Jan 1902 at Hertford and served in South Africa until he was discharged on 12 Jul 1902 on termination of his period of engagement. 
He re-enlisted for WW1 at Ware and died of illness as a prisoner of war at Le Quesnoy.
